Tin Ka Ping Foundation hosts 40th Anniversary Education Forum cum Celebration Dinner

The Tin Ka Ping Foundation (the Foundation), Honorary Trustee of the HKBU Foundation, hosted the “Tin Ka Ping Foundation 40th Anniversary Education Forum cum Celebration Dinner” on 13 December 2022, which was officiated by Mr. Tin Hing Sin, Chairman of the Foundation and the keynote speakers.

At the Education Forum, Professor Wong Yuk Shan, SBS, JP, Chairman of the Research Grants Council, was invited to exchange views with representatives of nine universities in Hong Kong on key issues in local and overseas higher education. A number of members of the HKBU community also joined this special occasion to extend their warmest congratulations to the Foundation. They included Professor Alexander Wai, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor; Professor Roland T. Chin, President Emeritus; Professor Rick Wong, Interim Provost and Acting Vice-President (Research and Development); Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Rev. Tse Hung, Chaplain; Professor Chan King Cheung, BBS, Raymond R. Wong Endowed Professor in Media Ethics and Professor of Practice in the Department of Journalism; Dr. Amelia Lee, MH, Associate Dean (Programme Development) and Head of Early Childhood and Elementary Education; Dr. Kwok Wai Luen, Head of the Department of Religion and Philosophy; Dr. Theresa Kwong, Director of the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning (CHTL); Dr. Eva Wong, former Director of CHTL; and Dr. Veggy Choi, Senior Coordinator of Student and Alumni Ministries.

Founded in 1982, the Foundation is a long-standing supporter of HKBU. Over the years, it has made generous donations in support of various University’s initiatives, including the establishment of the Tin Ka Ping Education Endowment Fund, the HKBU Development Fund, various conferences, innovative service-learning programmes and the University’s advancement.
