HKBU confers Honorary University Fellowships upon seven distinguished persons







HKBU held its 18th Honorary University Fellowship Conferment Ceremony on 21 September 2023. Honorary University Fellowships were conferred upon seven distinguished persons, including Members of the HKBU Foundation and donor of the University, in recognition of their significant contributions to society and their staunch support for the University.
The seven recipients are:
- Dr. Sunny Chai, SBS, JP, Chairman of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, donor of the University
- The Hon. Kenneth Fok, JP, Vice-President of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China
- Ms. Leonie Ki, GBS, JP, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation and leader in the advertising industry
- Mr. Arthur Lee, MH, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation and Assistant President and Company Secretary of the CGN New Energy Holdings Co., Ltd.
- Mr. Mongkolchai Mavichien, Honorary Permanent President of the HKBU Foundation and President of Ma Pak Leung Company Limited
- Professor Alexander B. Murphy, renowned political-cultural geographer
- Professor Sunny Wong, Chairman of the Alumni Committee of the HKBU Foundation and Adjunct Professor of HKBU School of Business
At the Ceremony, Professor Alexander Wai, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, acknowledged the seven Honorary University Fellowship recipients as renowned leaders in their respective fields. Their determination to pursue excellence, generosity of spirit and willingness to help others are admirable and inspiring.
A number of Foundation members and friends of the University attended the Ceremony to share the joy of the recipients. They included The Hon. Sunny Tan; Dr. Christina Lee, MH; Dr. Eddie Ho; Dr. Vincent Ho; Mr. Frank Lau; Dr. Sonny Li; Professor Dickson Shang; Mrs. Mary Suen; Mr. Kenneth Ting, SBS, JP; Mr. Kent Tsui; Mr. Wong Nga Chung; and Professor Bernard Wu. Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, also joined this special occasion to congratulate the honorary fellows.
