The China Venture, a bilingual video series co-produced by Mr. Ivan Wong, JP, Co-Chairman of the Young Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, also Vice-Chairman of the Kum Shing Group, together with the Hong Kong United Foundation, held its premiere at the Dynasty Club in Wanchai on 7 June 2024.

The series has 15 episodes, with stories revolving around overseas Chinese who had ventured into their hometown or cities in Mainland China to pursue their dreams. It is hoped that the stories will help the young generation to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese civilisation and culture, as well as the new opportunities brought by the country’s development. In one of the episodes, Mr. Wong shares his vision for the future of education, and how he stepped out of the comfort zone to promote youth development with education.

The event kicked off with a video-recorded address by by The Hon. Mr. Leung Chun Ying, GBM, GBS, JP, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, followed by a sharing session hosted by Mr. Ivan Wong, who is the series’ sponsor. The event attracted quite a number of Legco members and celebrities.  Ms. Eileen Tsui, BBS, JP, Member of the Entrepreneur Committee of the HKBU Foundation, and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, also attended the event.
