A delegation of 13 members from the Hong Kong Chinese Industry & Commerce Association (HKCICA), led by its Chairman Mr. Louis Leung, paid a visit to the University on 30 June 2015.

Professor Albert S.C. Chan, JP, President and Vice-Chancellor, extended his gratitude to members of HKCICA for taking time out from their busy schedules to visit the University. The delegation was briefed on the uniqueness of Whole Person Education at HKBU and the latest developments of the University, including the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology and the Partner State Key Laboratory of Environmental and Biological Analysis. Professor Chan said although he was about to retire, his love and care for the University would endure. He hoped that the delegation could gain a better understanding of the University and looked forward to collaborating with HKCICA in nurturing talent for the community.

Founded in 1996, HKCICA aims to explore new business opportunities in Hong Kong and the Mainland and to foster a harmonious environment for the long-term development of the industry. In his speech, Mr. Louis Leung expressed his appreciation to HKBU for its great efforts in developing different specialised disciplines, such as Chinese Medicine and Communication. Mr. Leung himself shared deep associations with HKBU by serving as a mentor of the School of Business. He hoped that the commercial sector could work hand in hand with HKBU for the betterment of Hong Kong's future.

The visit began with an introduction to the recent developments at the School of Business by Professor Allan Chan, Associate Vice-President and Interim Dean of Business. The delegation then visited the Academy of Film and the School of Chinese Medicine. They were warmly received by Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement; Dr. Liu Jing, Coordinator of the Dr. & Mrs. Hung Hin Shiu Museum of Chinese Medicine; and representatives of the Academy of Film. A lunch was hosted by Professor Chan after the visit.
