the School of Chinese Medicine's latest developments
A delegation comprising 19 members from the Hong Kong Kowloon City Industry and Commerce Association (KCICA), led by its President Dr. Leung Lun, MH, and Chairman Ms. Tsui Li, JP, paid a visit to the University on 2 September 2016.
Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, extended his warm welcome to members of the Association for visiting the University despite their busy schedules. The delegation was briefed on the uniqueness of Whole Person Education at HKBU, and the progress made by the School of Business, the Department of Journalism of the School of Communication, the Academy of Visual Arts and the School of Chinese Medicine. He hoped that the delegation could gain a better understanding of the University’s development in various areas, and he looked forward to collaborating closely with KCICA for the betterment of Hong Kong.
President Dr. Leung Lun said he was delighted to witness the rapid development of HKBU, particularly in the areas of Chinese medicine and creativity education, since their last visit in 2014. Dr. Leung expressed that KCICA and HKBU shared a deep friendship and he highly appreciated HKBU’s philosophy of Whole Person Education. The Association will render its continued support to the University in nurturing talent for the community.
The visit began with an introduction to the recent developments at the School of Business by Dr. Henry Fock, Head and Associate Professor of Marketing. The delegation then visited the Department of Journalism of the School of Communication, the Academy of Visual Arts and the School of Chinese Medicine. They were warmly received by Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Frank Fu, MH, JP, Associate Vice-President and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Ms. Bonnie Chiu, Associate Head of the Department of Journalism; Dr. Bryan Chung, Assistant Professor of the Academy of Visual Arts; Dr. Liu Jing, Coordinator of the Dr. and Mrs. Hung Hin Shiu Museum of Chinese Medicine; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement. A luncheon was hosted by Professor Chin after the visit.
