HKBU receives HK$5,000,000 from Logan Charitable Foundation

The University recently received a generous donation of HK$5,000,000 from Logan Charitable Foundation in support of the School of Chinese Medicine’s research project entitled “Efficacy and Mechanism Study of Artemisinin Derivatives for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases”.

In recognition of the Foundation’s generosity, a cheque presentation ceremony officiated by Mr. Kei Hoi Pang, Chairman of Logan Property Holdings Company Limited, and Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, was held on 26 April 2017.  Guests and HKBU representatives attending the ceremony included Mr. Xiao Dahong, Office Director of Logan Property Holdings Company Limited; Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and Director of Clinical Division of the SCM; Mr. C.K. Yeung, Associate Vice-President (Engagement); Professor Lyu Aiping, Dean of Chinese Medicine; Professor Ken Yung, Associate Head and Professor of the Department of Biology; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation.  After the ceremony, Professor Chin expressed his deep gratitude for Chairman Kei’s staunch support during the lunch hosted at his residence Shiu Pong Hall.
