Organised by the HeArt Touch Charity Foundation (the Foundation), a charity show “Inheriting the Art of Cantonese Opera” was staged at the Sunbeam Theatre in North Point on 23 April 2018. The Foundation kindly donated all the proceeds from the ticket sales of the show amounting to HK$300,000, in support of overseas exchange activities organised by HKBU School of Continuing Education (SCE).

A cheque presentation ceremony, officiated by Mrs. Fanny Hau, Founder and Chairman of the Foundation; Mr. George Lau Wing Chuen, a highly experienced Cantonese opera music teacher; Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning); and Dr. Lawrence Tsang, Acting Dean of SCE, was held during the charity show.

In his speech, Dr. Chau expressed his deep gratitude for the Foundation’s generous support towards the University.  Dr. Chau said HKBU has been committed to broadening students’ global visions and enriching their learning experience by providing them offshore learning opportunities. The Foundation’s generous support enables HKBU students to learn outside the classroom and to gain valuable global experience.

Other HKBU representatives attending the event included Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation, who also officiated at the opening ceremony of the show, and Dr. Amelia Lee, Acting Associate Dean of SCE.
