Visit by Mr. Cheng Chak Kuen and Miss Cheng Chiu Kwan

 The guests were attracted by the exhibits of the “20:20 Print Exchange” exhibition at Koo Ming Kown Exhibition Gallery of the Academy of Visual Arts


Mr. Cheng Chak Kuen, Chairman of Dongguan Xingye Trade Development Company Limited, his daughter Miss Cheng Chiu Kwan, and Mr. Bill Cheung, Secretary-General of the Religious Society Hong Kong Center of China, visited the University on 15 May 2018. They were warmly received by Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation; Ms. Cindy Chan, Director of the Centre for Innovative Service-Learning; Dr. Zhu Mengwen, Postdoctoral Fellow of the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology (JAS); and representatives from the Academy of Visual Arts and the Office of Student Affairs.

During the visit, the guests toured around the campus facilities on the Baptist University Road Campus. They were showcased the featured facilities and competitive edges of the Academy of Visual Arts, JAS and student learning commons, and were introduced to the University’s latest developments in innovative service-learning.

Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, and Mrs. Zina Chin, hosted a dinner for the guests at their residence Shiu Pong Hall after the visit. They were joined by Dr. Simon Suen, BBS, JP, Chairman of the SML Group, and Mrs. Mary Suen; Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) and Mr. Yeung Chee Kong, Associate Vice-President (Engagement). Professor Chin expressed his sincere wish to collaborate closely with the guests in nurturing young talents for the benefit of the community.
