A delegation comprising 20 members from The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon (Lok Sin Tong), led by its Chairman Mr. Kyran Sze, paid a visit to the University on 16 February 2017.
Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, extended his warm welcome to the members of the Lok Sin Tong for visiting the University despite their busy schedules. Professor Chin said he was pleased to learn that Lok Sin Tong shared the same vision of Whole Person Education as HKBU. He hoped that the visit could give the delegation a comprehensive overview of the strengths and uniqueness of the University in various areas, and he looked forward to collaborating closely with Lok Sin Tong in providing service-learning opportunities for HKBU students.
In his speech, Chairman Mr. Kyran Sze said one of the missions of Lok Sin Tong is to promote education and to cultivate the young generation. The Society was delighted to have a chance to visit HKBU and to learn about new development of the School of Business, the Academy of Film and the School of Chinese Medicine. Mr. Sze also expressed his appreciation of the University’s dedication to promoting Chinese medicine and the provision of first-rate Chinese medicine healthcare services. He hoped that Lok Sin Tong could work hand in hand with HKBU in providing quality Chinese medicine services for the betterment of the Hong Kong community.
The visit began with a presentation on the recent developments of the School of Business by Dr. Cheng Yuk Shing, Head of Economics. The delegation then visited the Academy of Film and the School of Chinese Medicine. They were warmly received by Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Bian Zhaoxiang, Associate Vice-President and Director of the Clinical Division of the School of Chinese Medicine; Dr. Kevin Yue, Associate Director of the Teaching and Research Division of the School of Chinese Medicine; Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement; and Dr. So Kwok Sang, Academic Registrar. A luncheon for the delegation was hosted by Professor Chin after the visit.
