HKBU welcomes delegation from Hong Kong Youths Unified Association

A 9-member delegation from the Hong Kong Youths Unified Association (HKYUA), led by its Chairman Mr. Kenneth Leung, paid a visit to the University on 15 May 2017.

Professor Roland T. Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, extended his warm welcome to the members of HKYUA for visiting the University despite their busy schedules. The delegation was briefed on the latest developments of HKBU. Professor Chin hoped that the delegation could gain a better understanding of the University’s development in various areas, and he looked forward to collaborating closely with HKYUA in nurturing more outstanding talents for the benefit of the community.

In his speech, Mr. Kenneth Leung introduced the objectives of HKYUA and various projects organised by the Association in recent years. Mr. Leung expressed his sincere wish to strengthen ties between the Association and the University and explore possibilities for future collaboration, particularly in the areas of service learning and youth exchange programmes.

The visit began with a presentation on the recent developments of the School of Business by Dr. Ng Ying Chu, Associate Professor of Economics cum Director of the MSc in Applied Economics Programme. The delegation then visited the facilities at the Department of Journalism and the Academy of Film of the School of Communication, as well as the School of Chinese Medicine. They were warmly received by Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching & Learning); Mr. Yeung Chee Kong, Associate Vice-President (Engagement); Professor Li Min, Director of the Teaching and Research Division of the School of Chinese Medicine; and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation. A luncheon was hosted by Professor Chin after the visit.
