Hong Kong King Wai Group hosts Celebration Dinner of 3rd Belt and Road Scholarship Program

Hong Kong King Wai Group Company Limited, Honorary Director of the HKBU Foundation, held the Celebration Dinner of the 3rd Belt and Road Scholarship Program on 10 September 2019. Officiating at the dinner included Mrs. Nuttha Soontrapa, Acting Consul-General of Thailand; Mr. Sorayod Kumbunlue, Deputy Consul-General of Thailand; The Hon. Kevin Yeung, JP, Secretary for Education of the HKSAR Government; and Mr. Antonio Chan, Vice-Chairman of Hong Kong King Wai Group Company Limited. Mr. Lam Fung Lam, MH, Senior Member of the HKBU Foundation, also joined the occasion, while Dr. Albert Chau, Vice-President (Teaching and Learning), and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secreatary-General of the HKBU Foundation, attended the dinner on behalf of the University.

The Hong Kong Scholarship Program for “Belt and Road” Students (Thailand) was set up by the donation made by Dr. Chan King Wai, Chairman of Hong Kong China Chamber of Commerce and Hong Kong Kai Wai Group. Under the program, up to ten scholarships will be offered annually to outstanding Thai students who are enrolled in undergraduate programmes at publicly funded institutions in Hong Kong. This scholarship scheme aims to further internationalise and diversify the higher education sector in Hong Kong and to nurture talents with a global vision and international networks.
