Since its establishment, the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation has been able to receive generous donations from enthusiastic individuals and organisations to set up various development funds and realise a number of new initiatives that are innovative and have profound impact on the community. Law Sau Fai Institute for Advancing Translational Medicine in Bone & Joint Diseases

In 2015, the University received a generous donation from Mr. Francis Law in support of the project entitled “Research and Development of Innovative Combination Drugs in Traditional Chinese Medicine” conducted by the Institute for Advancing Translational Medicine in Bone & Joint Diseases under the School of Chinese Medicine.  The research focuses on new drug discovery for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and bone tumor.

Kwok Yat Wai Endowed Professorship in Environmental and Biological Analysis

In 2014, the University received a generous donation from the Kwok Chung Bo Fun Charitable Fund for the establishment of the "Kwok Yat Wai Endowed Professorship in Environmental and Biological Analysis". The Professorship supports the recruitment of a distinguished scholar to lead the Partner State Key Laboratory of Environmental and Biological Analysis in carrying out research focusing on human health and environmental science.

The Albert and Mabel Chan Exchange Scholarship

In 2015, the University established the Albert and Mabel Chan Exchange Scholarship in honour of the retirement of Professor Albert Chan. The Scholarship has received support from colleagues, alumni and friends of the University.  A total of nearly HK$15 million was raised.  

Dr. Elizabeth K.S. Law Endowed Professorship in Advanced Materials

In 2014, the University received a generous donation from Dr. Elizabeth K.S. Law, MH for the establishment of the "Dr. Elizabeth K.S. Law Endowed Professorship in Advanced Materials". The Professorship supports the recruitment of a renowned scholar to lead the Institute of Advanced Materials under the Faculty of Science in advancing the research and development of advanced materials for the improvement of the quality of human life.

The HKBU Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology – Amway Development Fund

In 2013, the University received a generous donation of HK$10 million from Amway (China) Company Limited to establish the “HKBU Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology – Amway Development Fund”, which supports the publications of the HKBU Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology for the promotion of Chinese culture.

Dr. Kennedy Y.H. Wong Distinguished Visiting Professorship Scheme

In 2013, the University received a generous donation of HK$10 million from Dr. Kennedy Wong, BBS, JP, for the establishment of the "Dr. Kennedy Y.H. Wong Distinguished Visiting Professorship Scheme". Under the Scheme, the University invites internationally renowned scholars from throughout the world to stay on campus as Visiting Professors so that academics and students have more opportunities to interact with world-class scholars, thereby increasing their knowledge base and broadening their horizons.
